Listed below are different types of office visits performed at this clinic and an explanation of what each one includes.

Annual Check-Up

This visit is performed once a year and checks your general health including general vital signs, ordering blood tests, performing an EKG and a spirometry breathing test, and discussing any general changes or concerns regarding your health over the past year. Depending on your insurance policy, this visit is generally covered by your insurance and there may not be a copay/deductible.

General Check-Up

This visit is performed if you come in for any specific problem such as a cough, an ache, or any other medical problem that has recently developed and is actively bothering you at the moment. Depending on your insurance policy, this visit is generally covered by your insurance, but you are typically responsible for a copay/deductible.

Complex Check-Up

This visit is typically in regards to monitoring a chronic condition you may have (Diabetes, COPD, etc), and is usually repeated every 3 months. Depending on your insurance policy, this visit is generally covered by your insurance, but you are typically responsible for a copay/deductible.

Nurse Visit

This visit does not involve any interaction with a doctor. Typically, a Nurse Visit is for following-up on small tests such as a skin test for tuberculosis, or placing a heart monitor on you. Depending on your insurance policy, this visit is generally covered by your insurance, and there may not be a copay/deductible.

Procedural

This type of visit involves a specific diagnostic or treatment procedure such as an ultrasound exam, a sports physical, a sleep study, etc. This visit does not include a doctor interpreting and discussing your results with you. Therefore, it is recommended you schedule a General Check-Up visit as soon as your results are available. The cost of these visits depends directly on your insurance policy, and you are typically responsible for a copay/deductible.

Different types of visits may require different allotments of time. At any point during your appointment, if you ask to discuss a more complex issue with your provider, the visit may be upgraded. For example, if you come in for your Annual Check-Up and you need to discuss the status of your diabetes, the visit will become a Complex Check-Up. As such, you may become responsible for any difference in copay/deductible or other charges as per your insurance.
